Genie Cosmetics Review, Pics + Swatches

Genie Beauty recently sent me their entire makeup and skincare line, so we're doing this in a 2 part review. If you've never heard of Genie Beauty, they are sold a lot on QVC, and are featured in tons of magazines! So if you're wondering how these products work, here are a few pics and swatches.....

The Genie Vibrant Eyes Concealer Pen ($30) is a new technology "push" pen that is proven to reduce circles by 28%. Comes in Neutral, Light and Medium, it won't lay into your fine lines and wrinkles, instead it is meant to cover them up flawlessly. I love this concealer! It covers my dark circles AND crows feet very well, and this is one of the best dark eye circle covers I've came across. The only part I'm not fond of is the pen you have push from the bottom to get the actual product into the brush. If you're not careful, this could create a mess, so one or two clicks, and you have enough to cover both eyes. I would have loved this in a little squeeze bottle, but ok, it's still worth the buy! Love, LOVE, LOVE it!

The Genie TLC Mascara (TLC= Thickens, Lengthens, Conditions) ($15) is a little different then your average mascara. I am so picky about the mascara I use, I usually just go with my normal Maybelline, but I'm also interested in trying new ones. This is a double sided mascara.

The Top Lash Brush is a little bigger and is meant to create length and volume...

The Bottom Lash Brush is made out of delicate hollow fibers made to target your lower lashes and those hard to reach corner lashes too.

Although I love the concept, I thought both sides of the mascara were quite similar, and I'm sure both sides can be used on either the top or the bottom of your lashes. I think this mascara gives you more volume then length, so if you're more into big thick lashes, this might be a mascara to consider. I wasn't overly impressed with the results, but as we all know, mascaras work different for different people. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to use both brushes in the most effective way possible.

The Genie Cashmere Powder ($38)The ultra-fine texture and amazing blend of light fibers in Genie Cashmere Powder imparts a subtle radiance—no glitter or shine here—just a soft, luminous youthful glow. This is one of the best powders I've tried in a while. Maybe it's just because the color matches me almost to a t, or maybe it's actually because of the cashmere texture. This is a perfect finish to your makeup routine, to ensure there is no shine left on your face. Nothing drives me nuts more then a shiny look on my skin. You can purchase this compact with, or without the kabuki brush, but I highly recommend buying the set. Even if you already have a similar brush in your collection, the brush is the perfect size for this compact, which is a tad larger then your typical mirror compact set.

The Genie Line Smoothing Foundation ($40) comes in choices of fair, light, medium and medium dark. works to give you soft, smooth, beautiful skin—instantly. It contains light-refracting particles that help deflect light away from fine lines and wrinkles, for a noticeably younger appearance. And it includes the same Aloe Vera and powerful antioxidants that are in Genie Instant Line Smoother, so you can use both together for amazing results.

At first, the color seems a little harsh on your skin, but after rubbing it in, it starts to form to the color that fits you best. A little goes a long way, and it doesn't make your makeup look heavy. It's actually rather light, which is hard to tell from the swatch. I'm not sure if I got the right color for my skin, I'm thinking I would have done better with "fair". The swatch above is actually "Light".

The Genie Cashmere Blushes are a favorite of mine out of the collection. Sunrise and Sunset are two blushes that pack a ton of sparkle. You all know I'm not big on blush, but I like to think of these more of a bronzer or just a fabulous sparkle for you cheeks. The Sunrise is a little more of my color, because it's a little more light, and I think there is a bit more glitter.

Overall, Genie Beauty is worth the buy. The powders and blushes really achieve a beautiful, finished flawless look. I'm anxiously awaiting to see this product on QVC, and I'm hoping to catch a good deal on the cashmere powder!!! You can purchase Genie Cosmetics at and QVC.

I received product for the purpose of this review only. All opinions are my own.
