Anastasia Beverly Hills Illumin8 Eye Shadow Palette

Ok you know you're in 2011 when we start to see anti aging eye shadows! Anastasia of Beverly Hills has been my go to company for eyebrow colors. I use their Ash Blonde Eyebrow Powder Duo on my eyebrows everyday, and I would be lost without it. Now they are coming out with an innovative eyeshadow palette which will transform the eyeshadow business. I'm sure other companies will follow in their path. Anti-Aging Eye Shadow. Yes, I said it, anti aging!

What is it?

A palette of long wearing clinically tested eyeshadows formulated to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

When I think an eyeshadow that will make your eyes better, I think "Yah right!" How is it even possible? Let me explain, you're probably thinking the same thing. Anastasia included anti-aging ingredients in some of her new products including the Illumin8 Eye Shadow Palettes. The ingredients include retinoids, sunscreen, peptides, anti-oxidants and hydroxy acids. I'm still iffy about how well anti-aging ingredients in a powdered product are able to penetrate and act on the skin. Can a powder really make you look younger? Here are a couple facts:

-Clinical results reported at four weeks:

-70% noticed reduction of the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the eyelid.

-77% noticed eye area appears illuminated.-70% noticed eyelid appears firmer.

-68% noticed hooded lid appears less visible.

-83% noticed overall eye area appears lighter/brighter

So what do you think? Is it possible? Is it not? I can honestly cannot tell, but the colors are absolutely gorgeous. I tried the Illumn8 Eye Shadow Palette in #4 (see above) which contains a creamy matte white, a beautiful camoflauge green, a more bright greenish opaque color mixed with a blue and a dark rich brown color. The greens are highly pigmented as you'll see from my pics. At first glance, the colors weren't that appealing to me. I'm not much for green. After I played around with the colors for a while, I fell in love. They go on easy, and stay on for hours and hours without the use of an eyelid primer.

Really really love the dark brown at the end. I can use this shadow everyday. Each color has just enough pigment to satisfy my love of sparkles. I'm not sure if they are making me look younger, but each color is extra beautiful. The blue comes across a bit purplish on my skin, and the green turns into a beautiful limish color. The white was a bit hard to swatch, but I tried my best.

I am highly impressed with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Illumin8 Eye Shadow Palette. The colors are great and can be worn tons of different ways, they come housed in a beautiful compact with mirror and double ended brush. These aren't the only colors you can purchase the palette in. The one I reviewed is #4, but there is also numbers 1-3 in various different shades. You can purchase this for $40 at Anastasia of Beverly Hills, Sephora or HSN.
