Dermalogica Eye Revitalize Kit

I love gift sets don't you? You get to try out a couple different products without having to commit to one full sized product you might hate and never take out of your makeup drawer again. Sadly, the holidays are over now so gift sets are slowly drifting off the shelves, not be seen again until next year. However Dermalogica is keeping the gift set idea alive with their Eye Revitalize Kit!

The Dermalogica Limited Edition Eye Revitalize Kit ($47) contains one full sized bottle of their popular Intensive Eye Repair, and 2 travel sized products; Soothing Eye Make-Up Remover and their Total Eye Care Eye Cream. ($66 value) Let's face it, as we age our skin starts to slowly change. And the part of our face that does the most "aging" is probably our eyes. Your eyelids start to droop, the crows feet kick in, ugh it's so depressing. I'm at the age where I'm starting to have all this ugly stuff happen right around my eyes, and I'm searching for eye creams and moisturizers left and right. There are so many different beauty products out there, it's mind boggling. That's why I'm here to help!

The Eye Revitalize Kit comes housed in a cardboard box, each product in their own little slot. At first I didn't realize the Make Up Remover and the Eye Cream were travel sized products because they aren't as small as most travel products, they are still a good size and can still last you a good amount of time if used sparingly. So let's start off with the main focus of the box, The Intensive Eye Repair.

The Intensive Eye Repair is a ultra rich phytonutrient cream that replenishes the delicate skin around your eyes with antioxidant vitamins that are critical to keeping your eyes fresh and hydrated. This cream is thick and creamy and reminds me of a hand cream, but for your eyes. My trouble spot is my dark circles and crows feet, so just a little dab of this around my eyes and my skin feels much more moisturized. I heard it's better to pat cream around your eyes instead of rub in, so I always pat a little bit so it soaks into my trouble areas.

The Dermalogica Soothing Eye Makeup Remover is oil and alcohol free. It's basically scentless, and is gentle on the eyes. I found it rather soothing. It's so hard to find a good eye makeup remover nowadays. I usually just go for the regular old Vaseline to remove my eye makeup. I can't stand waking up the next day and having raccoon eyes because my makeup remover was less then expected. This one works great and takes off every last bit of mascara and liner. I only received a travel size, but I'm probably going to end up buying the full size because this one is a keeper, plus it claims to strengthen your eyelashes. Major plus. You never want a makeup remover that will rip out your lashes or wear them down.

Finally, and last in the set is the Total Eye Care. The travel size is only .1 oz so it's about the size of my pinkie. This is an advanced alpha hydroxy eye treatment cream that helps repair the delicate eye area while reducing the appearance of dark circles and lines. The formula is a dark brown and rather thick, which surprised me, most creams are a bit thinner and white. After 3 days use I noticed my dark circles were lighter then usual, however I didn't notice a difference in lines. That part probably comes with continued use. I think this is the perfect product for someone searching for an affordable, under eye cream. A full sized product cost $41, which is significantly cheaper then other eye products on the market today.

Overall, this is a good starter set if you're not sure what type of products you should be using, or if you're new to Dermalogica and have never experienced their products before. They are also selling the Age Starter Kit, (See the review here), the Ultra Calming Kit, Smooth and Renew and many others. Out of the entire kit I found the Total Eye Care to be the most effective. I'm glad I got to sample the 3 products, because now I know what product works effectively with my eyes. You can purchase the Dermalogica Eye Revitalize Kit and more at Dermalogica.com
