Marina Cosmetics Lipstick and Lip Gloss Review + Swatches, Pics

Marina Cosmetics believes that Natural is beautiful. They create cosmetics out of sea minerals blended with vitamins, powerful antioxidants, and plant derived oils that will leave your skin feeling refreshed, restored and renewed, just like the sea.

Marina Cosmetics sent me over a couple products, Lipstick in Sea Shimmer Pink, and a Lip Gloss in shade Sunkissed. These products are giving companies like MAC and Benefit a run for their money. The texture and feel are similar to some of my favorite beauty brands.

The Marina Hydrating Lip Gloss in Sunkissed ($22) is an absolutely gorgeous color of neutral and pink reddish undertones with a high volume of shine and packed full of moisture. This is not sticky or tacky and it's long wearing. I received about 3 hours of full wear with this gloss. The shade is so pretty it will flatter any one's lips and skin tone. It can be worn alone or over a neutral lip shade. This is the best lip gloss I have tried in quite a long time. I think this would compliment olive and dark skin tones, as well as light fair skinned gals like myself.

The applicator is the typical doe foot brush, but as you can see the the color is full of pigment and only one layer is required. The formula and shine is not too overwhelming, and it comes across much more "glittery" in these close up pictures then on the lips. The micro glitter is just enough to not look over shiny, it's perfectly flattering, the picture just doesn't do it justice. I have nothing bad to say about this one!

The Sea Perfected Lipstick in Sea Shimmer Pink ($20) is developed to bring natural, anti-aging, hydrating care to the lips. Enriched with nutrient rich sea minerals, Ecocert, and Certified Organic ingredients to soften, smooth and moisturize lips. When I say I love pink lipstick, this is what I'm talking about! A slightly cool color, it's a bubble gum pink with a lustre finish. It's smooth and creamy and lasted me about 5 hours.

Please keep in mind I'm a bit sick right now so my lips are a little dry, this is not a drying lipstick at all, it's full of moisture, so I don't want the above pic to mislead.

(Sea Shimmer Pink, Sun Kissed Gloss)

I thought the Sea Shimmer Pink was very similar to the Lady Gaga
Lipstick from MAC. Here is a comparison swatch, as you can see they are very similar. I will say the Marina Lipstick is a tad more moisturizing then the MAC Lipstick.

You can purchase the Lipstick and Lipgloss at MarinaCosmetics.com or find a store near you here. Overall, Marina Cosmetics has exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to try more of their colors. They are a company that should be right up there with your department store brands, I'm hoping one day in the future maybe they will be there. The only downside to their products is the over $20 price tag, but I think for the amount of color and moisture you're receiving, it's well worth the purchase.

Disclosure: I received products for consideration from PR for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own. No monetary compensation was received.
