Maybelline Super Stay Makeup

I've been browsing drugstore cosmetic reviews, trying to figure out which one I should try. I usually try to stay away from drug store foundations, I've had horrible experiences with them, but I figured it was time to venture back into drugstore cosmetic world. While reading reviews of all different brands, I came to the conclusion that Maybelline "Fit Me" Makeup was the best option. It claims to be for all different skin tones and colors, and it's supposed to be uber fabulous!

I ended up purchasing the Maybelline "Fit Me" Makeup in color 220, which looked like a good match for my skin. And at $7.99 it couldn't have been priced better! I also purchased the matching powder, because I've heard with it can become a bit oily. Long story short, the color did NOT match me, I wish I would have taken a picture to show you guys. After 2 long hours in Ulta working with the sales woman, we came to the conclusion Maybelline FIT ME does NOT have a color to match my skin tone. Total bummer! A couple of the colors were sold out, so that could have been the reason why I couldn't find a match.

So instead, I went to the 2nd best option, the Maybelline Super Stay Makeup. It claims to last 24 hours! Wow, and for $10, ok I figured I would give it a try.

The color (Nude) was a bit dark for my face color, but I plan on getting a little bit tanner soon, so I figured I would just save this for the summertime. My first thought was I hate the bottle! Why can't drugstore brands make their packaging just a little more appealing? I hate that it doesn't have any kind of applicator, it's just an open bottle which can become quite messy and hard to apply. So I had to take my foundation brush (Sigma F60) and dip it into the bottle. I'm dreading the day it gets too low and I'll have to pour the liquid on to my brush.

What it claims:

SuperStay™ 24HR Makeup stays comfortable and looks naturally flawless all day
-Micro-Flex formula provides 24-hour wear and No Transfer
-Withstands heat, sweat and humidity
-Oil-free, dermatologist tested, fragrance-free. Suitable for all skin types

Lately my skin has been extremely oily, I'm not sure if that's from the weather or maybe stress. Either way, the coverage with this foundation is amazing, it goes on nicely even though I had the wrong color, it stays on for a long period of time. I wouldn't say 24 hours, but maybe about 12-13.
There is also no scent and it doesn't feel heavy on my face. It looks pretty natural, which caught me by surprise. I guess drug store foundation isn't that bad at all. Sorry for the horrible pictures, haven't touched my hair since yesterday!

Final Thought: I love the Maybelline Super Stay Foundation. Other then the fact that this doesn't come with any type of applicator or top, I'm gonna look past that for now. I'm hoping as summer comes around the color will start to match my complexion much better. This is my pick for drugstore foundation. Oily skin types might need a good powder to top this off, but it's nicely light and refreshing. Very happy with the Maybelline SuperStay Makeup ♥

Disclosure: This product was purchased by me for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own and are 100% honest.

  1. looks like the colour matches you well with the superstay, I had the opposite regular Fit Me had a great colour match and Superstay, the lightest was way too pink for me.
