Vapour Organic Beauty Essential Mini Collection

Vapour Organic Beauty is and always has been one of my favorite organic beauty companies. Their products are shaped differently then your typical makeup, in a square lipstick like tube. Today I'm testing out the Vapour Essential Mini Collection ($29) This collection makes it easy to test out Vapour's top products in mini sized versions of their big sellers. A lot more companies seem to be doing this more and more, I think it's a good marketing scheme to get people to test out your products and then eventually they come back to buy the full sized item.

When you purchase the Mini Collection you receive

  • Vapour’s most revolutionary offering, Stratus Instant Skin Perfector.
  • Atmosphere Luminous Foundation, the product that launched Vapour.
  • Aura Multi Use Blush in Spark, a peachy pink, that flatters all skin tones.

The Atmosphere Foundation comes in a wide variety of colors (see above) It's described as a buildable, medium-to-full coverage foundation that perfects the skin without appearing heavy or mask-like. Its exceptional finish starts as a liquid and quickly transforms to perfect the skin’s surface with a silky texture that blends easily with the skin for the desired amount of coverage. The unique twist to the foundation is that it comes in a stick form, which is different but peaked my interest.

Sadly, I couldn't seem to get the foundation quite right. I have combination skin and right now it's a bit oily, and this product seemed to give me a greasy look once applied. I found it hard to get the foundation to completely cover my face, and when I did, I appeared shiny. It seemed to cling to the fine lines around my eyes and mouth. I would recommend this foundation for people with dry skin, but unfortunately I could not pull this off. I'm a little disappointed, I had high hopes.

The Aura Multi Use Blush in Spark is made with 70% certified organic ingredients and is formulated to give you an extra shot of sparkling pop to your cheeks. The picture above shows my stick after applied on top of the foundation, so its a bit dirty. The formula is quite nice and can be used with a heavy or light hand depending on how much blush you like, but the color was just not right on my skintone. I think it was a bit too dark , and I think a lighter baby pink or peach would have fit my cheeks much better.

This blush would be much more fitting for an medium-olived skin tone. Right now I'm pretty light, so I looked a bit clownish.

The one plus in this set for me is the Instant Skin Perfector It is a velvety-smooth variation of Vapour’s revolutionary original multi-use primer. Stratus Soft Focus leaves the skin smoother, firmer and completely prepared for the application of color. From the first application you will see a difference as Stratus works instantly to blur imperfections, hydrate the skin and add radiance without a trace of residue or heaviness. This provided good coverage as a concealer and even a highlighter. It can be used for different areas but I wouldn't recommend using this as a foundation or all over the face. I even mixed this with my MAC concealer or my Bobbi Brown corrector for a better texture around my eyes and nose. But be careful, because too much on oily skin could settle into your pores and give you a shiny greasy look.

(Foundation, Blush and Skin Perfector)

Overall if you haven't tried Vapour Organics, the Essential Mini Collection is a good place to start. If you would rather skip the minis and buy a full sized product, the Skin Perfector is the gem in this set. The Foundation and Blush just didn't mesh with my skin type and color. If you have dry flaky skin and a darker skin tone, the Atmosphere Foundation and Blush in Spark would be perfect, or at least worth a try.

  3. for foundation, you should've used the soft focus one, both the foundation and instant skin perfector have the ones for dry skin and ones for oily skin. as for the blush, yes, better choose a shade that suits you. :)
