Etude House Princess Jewelry Finish Pact Review

I recently bought a ton of stuff on Ebay from different Asian cosmetic brands including Etude House, Tony Moly and Skin Food. I found some things that I absolutely can't live without, and I found a few things I wasn't too fond of. This was probably the worst pick for me. It's from the Princess line from Etude House, which is a popular Korean makeup brand. Let me first say, some of my favorite products have come from Etude House, so I was so disappointed by the Princess Jewelry Finish Pact.

Of course the main reason I bought this was because of how cute the packaging was. A pink jeweled compact with a little crown on top was too adorable to pass up. It looks like a little pink space ship, and I just love it. Some people might think the packaging is a bit juvenile or childish, but I'm a sucker for such packaging. This is a baked powder that is supposed to feel like silk when applied to the face, and is meant to finish off your look, or give you good pore coverage.

Isn't it cute? Ok, the only good thing about this compact IS the actual compact. The product was down right horrible. I'm not sure if it's because I got an OLD or bad product, (since I did buy it from Ebay) but for the life of me I couldn't get any product on my hands, fingers or much less my face. I even wet this down a bit to see if I could get ANYTHING, and after a while of rubbing on the powder with a wet finger, I got a bit of product that is shown swatched below. And it took a ton of work.

When I finally did get a swatch, I did like the product, and it was good at hiding my pores, but the work it took to get any type of powder out of the compact was absolutely crazy, and I can't see myself taking the time to get such a little amount of powder. I will say that I've been purchasing beauty products from Ebay lately, and you should always check the expiration dates when it comes in the mail, because I have been getting old products. I even had a recent issue where I purchased a haircare product that was not completely what I thought it was. It had a bit of water in the bottle, to make it look like it was full. Shady right?

So back to the jewelry compact, the brush is also flimsy and I threw it out immediately. So if you buy Korean makeup like I do, save yourself the shipping cost on this one. I'm not even going to rate it, because I really do believe I got a bad batch. I've read other reviews on the Princess compact, and I haven't heard anyone else complain about swatching issues. Plus I've never been a big fan of baked powders.

But wow, isn't it so pretty? I've decided to use this as mirror/compact in my purse. I usually save my favorite compact powders for home, for fear I will drop it and product will spill all over, but no need to worry about that with this! I don't think this powder is going to move at all! I even dropped it outside to see if it would break, and it was good as gold. So if you're really feeling the need for this compact, your best bet is Ebay. But if you're looking for a really good finishing powder, pass on this one.
