Perricone Super 3 Minute Facial Review

Have you heard of Perricone's new Super line?

"According to the dermatologist Nicholas Perricone, your mother was right: you are what you eat. In his 2000 book, “The Wrinkle Cure,” Perricone championed an antioxidant-rich diet and supporting skin-care regimen with his line of products. Now, to accompany his new book, “Forever Young,” he’s launched Super. The skin-care line was debuted to a group that’s probably already eating plenty of organic produce: the young residents of Berkeley, Calif., where Super opened its first freestanding store last summer. “In your early and mid-20s, you have flawless skin,” Perricone says. “The idea is to maintain it by optimizing the nutrients in the cells.” Each of the plant-derived Super products, which are free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates and synthetic colors and fragrances, touts its active ingredient right on its cheerful-looking label, from Acne Treatment With Green Apple to Hyper Hydrator With Coconut Water

Although I'm not in my early 20's I'm a huge fan of anything Perricone. And the products were extremely enticing to me, especially the 3 Minute Ginger Facial ($50) I'm a huge fan of all things ginger and it's soo good for you. It's described as a fast facial that will leave your skin hydrated, stimulated and glowing, all in three easy minutes.

The 3 Minute Facial is supposed to give you a tingling intense feeling while renewing your skin for an afterglow that will last. Of course the main ingredient is ginger which in case you didn't know is a little root that contains tons of good stuff for your body. I especially like ginger on my salad dressing.. yum. It must be the pregnant part of me talking.

Ok so because this is meant for people in their 20's trying to maintain good skin, it's not going to be your miracle face treatment. But it's one of those quick fun face masks that you can use when you're in a hurry. It doesn't harden like your typical mask which I found refreshing. It's simply like a face moisturizer you leave on your face for 3 minutes. I chose to leave it on for about 5 for that extra brightening effect.

So does it work?

Here's the deal. This is perfect for when you're having dull skin, or need to wake up and feel refreshed. I found using this in the morning when I'm trying to brighten my skin is the perfect time to use this mask. My skin was automatically hydrated and softened to create a nice bright glow. The smell is soo delicious, although I wouldn't mark it as straight ginger smell. It's more of a light ginger with a tad of something else clean like. It's perfect for using in the shower because it rubs off so easily. It will give you a tingling feeling, but no need to worry, this isn't a crazy allergic reaction, it's your face working with the cream to create a beautiful refreshed new face!

Bottom Line: If you're looking for something that is going to reduce wrinkles, tighten your skin and in other words create a MIRACLE this is not for you. Women in their 40's might turn their nose at this because it has no long term effects. But this does do exactly what it says. If you're looking to maintain or brighten your face while adding moisture then I highly suggest checking out the 3 minute facial by Perricone Super. And I will be honest, the word "ginger" and the scent are another reason I love this. I keep thinking this is the perfect "face mask" for that girl's night with your friends where you all appy masks to each other and gossip. I think this could even be used for girls in their teens who want to get a head start on perfect gorgeous skin.

The Super line by Perricone is sold strictly at Sephora, so you can purchase this in store or of course online for $50. If you're a hardcore Perricone junkie like myself, you need this in your collection.
