Kate Somerville Quench Hydrating Face Serum Review

The Kate Somerville Quench Hydrating Face Serum ($65) is a superior hydrating complex formulated by Kate to lock in water so skin stays quenched 24/7. The lightweight serum is designed to leave skin undeniably luminous. It delivers ceramides and sphingolipids crucial to keeping skin properly hydrated. It counters lipid loss caused by normal cleansing, stress, and environmental aggressors such as heat, cold, wind, and excessive UV exposure. It also helps to counteract photo aging and return skin to its youthful appearance.

Who is it for: Designed for men and women of all ages who need extra hydration, plus powerful anti-aging benefits. Designed for aging and normal-to-dry skin. Especially beneficial for skin depleted of hydration; skin lacking essential lipids that help to retain water in the cells; skin void of radiance and luminosity; skin with fine and deep lines and wrinkles; and skin with loss of firmness and elasticity. Why is it different: Quench serum is an advanced hydrating system that delivers essential lipids to properly replenish and restore hydrated skin. It locks in moisture by helping cells retain water, ensuring a healthy, more youthful-looking complexion. It helps protect skin against photo aging to promote firmness and elasticity and leaves skin luminous and glowing with a silky, satiny look and feel.

How to use it: Use morning and evening to a clean face and neck. Massage into skin and let it sink in. Follow up with daily moisturizer.

Kate Somerville has been impressing me lately with her products. First of all, the formula reminds me of a face primer. Maybe something like Smashbox's Photo Primer, because it's clear, no smell and silky. 1-2 pumps will go a long way. I would smear this over my face day and night and let it absorb before using my usual moisturizer. At first the feeling is a bit greasy, but no worries, it won't make you break out and the greasy feeling goes away almost instantly. And instead of a grease feeling, you're left with silky fresh skin.

I have been using the serum for about 2 weeks and I'm loving my results. My skin is hydrated and I can't remember the last time my face looked so fresh and bright. The best part? I would recommend this for Dry skin types AND oily types, Everyone and anyone! Sensitive skin too! When was the last time I said that? Dry skin gals (like myself) might find this a bit more useful because it's main purpose is to quench your skin of all the moisture it's lacking. I'm thinking I will save this for winter, when my skin starts to get extra flaky.

You know how drinking tons of water a day makes your skin look healthier and more moisturized? This of this product as doing the same thing, just quicker. And combined with your daily vitamins and water, your skin will never look better. Plus my makeup has been going on much better lately. Sometimes when my skin starts to get bad, my makeup will look blotchy, uneven and you'll be able to tell I'm wearing it. Instead, when my skin is hydrated and my pores are smaller, my makeup looks less then visible and I just look more natural. I think this was the best part of the Kate Somerville serum.

Kate Somerville's Quench Hydrating Serum is available for $65 at Kate Somerville's website and of course Sephora.
