LUSH Dirty Review

I told you before how excited I was about the LUSH Dirty Launch. Well it's finally arrived and I've been anxiously waiting to tell you guys about it. If you have been using LUSH for a while, or you're familiar with their products, at least for me, they get it very wrong or VERY right. There's not in between for me. Their products are extremely unique and each product has a smell that only Lush could come up with. Here's their new product line-up.

Dirty Spring Wash Shower Gel ($9.95 for 3.3oz, $17.95 for 8.4oz, $26.95 for 16.9oz) – recreate your very own mountain spring and wash with this tingly, softening, minty shower gel that contains spearmint, thyme, and sea salt.

Dirty Shaving Cream ($12.95) – shave it all off using our ultra-softening oats and benzoin shaving cream. There’s also lavender and sandalwood in there to soothe any irritations.

■Dirty Hair Gel ($12.95) – refresh your coif with their conditioning and softening, firm hold styling product. Made with fair trade coconut oil, linseed gel and balm herb infusion for the perfect just-got-out-of bed style.

Dirty Body Spray ($19.95) – if you don’t have the time for a full-on Dirty routine in the morning, take a quickie instead and spritz yourself liberally with this body spray before you head out the door

This line is all about being clean. First off, let's talk about the scent. The best way I can describe this is a mint gum. Yes, this smells like you're favorite minty fresh chewing GUM! Now if you would have told me this before I tried the Dirty line, I might have turned up my nose, however this is probably the cleanest smell I've ever smelled. Like you just got out of the shower, no matter what time of the day.

The LUSH Dirty Shaving Cream reminds me more of a cream for a man. It smells of oat, lavender and sandalwood, a bit different then the other products in the line up. I like the texture and I do enjoy the smell, but as far as a shaving cream, it was so-so for me. However it is fun to use! It made my legs smell nice and fresh. Although I don't know who's smelling my legs... ha ha.

Ohhh la la my favorite part of the collection is the refreshing shower gel. The minty.. or maybe spearmint smell is so amazing, I just want to eat it up. My favorite Lush shower gel of all time is Snow Fairy, but this will be 2nd, and I hope it will stick around for a while. Plus the beautiful blue is oh so pretty. It can also be used as a bubble bath, but I like using it as a soap more so it lasts a little bit longer. It lathers nicely, and after your shower you're left with a crisp clean scent. A little pricey, this will cost you $9.95 for a 3.3-oz. bottle, $17.95 for 8.4 oz., $26.95 for 16.9 oz, but ladies (and men) this is worth it!

2nd favorite? The Dirty Body Spray is perfect for on the go cleanliness, especially the GYM! I take this with me, so as soon as I'm done instead of smelling like nasty sweat, I smell like I just stepped out of the shower. I love the cute spray bottle, reminds me of bug spray. I know, it's a little odd. And as far as how LONG the smell will last? Well that is alll day baby. I can't get the scent off of me! LUSH is a genius with this one. However I'm not sure this would suit a guy, it's a little bit feminine, so sorry hubby this one is mine.
$12.95 for a 3.5-oz. bottle

The last part of the collection is the Hair Styling Cream. To be honest, I don't use Hair Styling Cream, and I never have. But for the purpose of this review, I put a bit on to tame my bangs. The Cream doesn't have the delicious scent of the spray and shower gel, so it wasn't a favorite, but for men and women that enjoy a good styling cream, it leaves your hair smelling a bit like coconut.
And now, just in time for Father's Day, the Lush Dirty Gift is perfect for dad. This set retails for $19.95 and includes shaving cream, hair gel, shower gel, toothy tabs (Lush’s version of toothpaste) and a sample of the Dirty fragrance. It’s perfect for the hipster in every dad.

All products shown above are available at If you're debating which ones to pick up, take my recommendation and get the Shower Gel and/or the Spray. This is one of my favorite collections Lush has came up with in a long long time.

Disclosure: A press sample was sent to me for consideration from PR for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own. No monetary compensation was received.

  1. I've been told that the 'dirty' spray is a really good mosquito repellent. Anyone heard this?
