The Mistura Essential Kit

Mistura's Essential Kit includes 1/8th ounce jar of Luminada® illuminating moisturizer, a mini clamshell of the 6-in-1 Beauty Solution® , Vitamin E lip balm and a baby Kabuki travel brush, all for under $30 dollars. It comes in a vinyl pouch, and I'm always interested in products like this that promise a one color solution for all skin tones.

At first glance, the packing was a bit disappointing. A vinyl package for a makeup set is not ideal for me. (Especially when there are so many other companies competing with pretty packages) But ok, willing to look past that. I was unsure how to use the set at first, but after researching a bit on the internet I figured it out. I mean c'mon this isn't rocket science right? It's a beauty kit!

The first step is the Luminada Moisturizer. A hydrating, illuminating moisturizer fragrance-free formula that provides a moisture-rich barrier against dryness, dullness and lack of elasticity. Worn before bed or under Mistura’s incredible 6-in-1 Beauty Solution, Luminada will leave skin silky smooth and glowing with its illuminating properties. When I think of illuminating moisturizer I think of a cream that will leave a nice glow to your face while leaving your skin feeling fresh and soft. Yes this made my skin feel nice, however the illuminating aspect was not there for me. It works nicely underneath your daily makeup regimen, but I don't think I will be purchasing the full size bottle. There was not gorgeous glow, no tightening feeling, The results were just not there for me, however with different skin types, different results could occur. Funny, sometimes I like that tingling feeling you get when you apply moisturizer, makes me feel like it's working.

After applying the moisturizer, I think the main attraction in the package is the 6 in 1 beauty solution. Is this a foundation? Bronzer? Blush possible? I'm not sure. It only comes in one color and per the directions, you buff this around your forehead, swirling around the cheeks and nose, like you would a bronzer. At first swipe, I thought wow, way too dark to be an "all over color"

Like I said, I love the color, but not over my entire face. As you can see against my light olive skin, this comes across a bit too dark, almost like an orange pink color. When swirled all over my face, I felt it was the wrong color. I took off the beauty solution, and started over with my regular makeup regimen, and then used the six in one beauty solution only on the apple of my cheeks and around my hairline. (Once again, like a bronzer) When "lightly" used on my face it gave me a bit of a glow, but the color was a still a bit heavy. There is no way I could apply this to my entire face, the color is just too dark.

The instructions state you can use this as an eyeshadow as well, but I like it strictly as a blusher/bronzer. It gave me a nice sun kissed glow when I applied it lightly to certain areas. Someone that has a tanner or darker complexion might love the 6 in one beauty solution, but if you have fair or pale skin, this might be too dark for you. The 6 in 1 solution promises to hide skin problems such as discoloration, or skin rosacea. It also promises to hide blemishes, basically any issue your skin might have. Right now my skin is a bit dry and rough, with a couple sun spots, and it was hard to tell if the beauty solution was covering it up, or just masking it because of the shade of the product.

The Kabuki brush and vitamin stick were just ok for me. The brush seemed a bit flimsy and I wasn't too impressed. As far as the lip Vitamin Stick, this is a good moisturizer for your lips, but I've never been a fan of Vitamin sticks, only because they don't give you any color or shine. There are many lip products on the market that can do both while also moisturizing, or at least have a yummy flavor attached.

If you're thinking about using Mistura products, the Essential Kit is a good choice because it gives you a chance to sample all their best sellers. If there is one product you're interested in, I would say purchase the Essential Kit so you're not buying something bigger that won't work for you. On the flip side, you might love this. I was eager to try the kit because so many people haved raved about the results on other beauty blogs. Did I do something wrong? Did I not apply right? You never know, this is only my personal experience with the Kit.

On a side note, I also tried out the Mistura Plump & Glow Lip gloss, which sells for $18.99 on the Mistura site. This is not included in the Essential Kit, however I think this would be a good trade for the Vitamin stick. It left my lips looking colorful, shiny and fun. I didn't feel or see the plumping effect, but I love the gloss. It comes in 3 sexy colors, that will leave your lips sparkly and kissable. Loved this one.

All products are available at and can be bought in the trial size, or in full sizes, separately. You can also find Mistura at Costco, Sears and the Shopping Channel. The Essential Kit sells for $29, and sadly, didn't work well for me. I think this kit would prove "essential" if it came in different color choices for different skin. I really don't think there are foundations that can fit all skin tones from asian, to black to white. It's almost "too good to be true" Visit for more info on the Essential Kit and the 6 in 1 Beauty Solution.

  1. Well I like the Mistura Makeup.....I don't know what you did with that picture of your arm with the blush on it, you didn't spread it in with the brush, you just made a line on yourself which doesn't look good for sure. And I don't know what you put on your lips before you put on their plump up gloss, but mine doesn't look like that. I think this is great makeup especially if you are in a hurry and don't have time to do a complete makeup job. I really like it and it will go with any skin type, you just have to know what your doing and you don't.
This product of great and that's my story.
