DERMAdoctor Photodynamic Therapy

So excited I got to try my first DERMAdoctor product. It's about time! Been eyeing their products forever. Their breakthrough product is the DERMAdoctor Photodynamic Therapy moisturizer which I've been using for the last 2 weeks.

So what exactly is Photodynamic Therapy? It's something usually done by a medical doctor, in an office setting.  It uses intense light therapy to blast collagen and elastin into our skin. Collagen and elastin are the two fibers that make our skin soft, smooth and "young". The cost of this type of service is beyond expensive and the treatments are also time consuming. And it is not done in one treatment it usually requires several treatments to achieve the desired look. Imagine a new reality in skin rejuvenation where skin can experience continuous exposure to anti-aging red light through the mere application of a lotion. This ground-breaking, patent-pending solar powered technology in lotion form captures UV light transforming it into visible red light, a proven energy source for eliciting anti-aging effects on the skin.

Just like solar panels on the roof capture the sun's UV rays and convert them into energy to power a home, Photodynamic Therapy captures and refracts the sun's UV rays, turning them into a powerful, device-free anti-aging machine.

In-office lasers, IPL (intense pulsed light) and other light treatments, used to help build collagen and elastin, are expensive, inconvenient and require a series of doctor's visits and maintenance sessions. At-home red light devices are costly, difficult to remember to use as well as time consuming. DERMAdoctor Photodynamic Therapy is clinically proven to restore skin firmness, radiance, tone, elasticity and reduce the appearance of redness, age spots, discoloration, pore size, fine lines and wrinkles.

How Does It Work?

Morinda Citrifolia Extract (Noni Fruit) contains a special polyphenol that specifically captures the sun's rays then converts and emits this energy as a highly focused visible red wavelength of light (648nm) equivalent to that of a red LED. Encapsulating this polyphenol with an inert tricalcium phosphate particle creates a complex capable of transmitting the visible red light to the skin where it works to firm the skin.

Normal daily activity will activate product. Do not seek additional sun exposure. Walking the dog, taking a jog, driving to the grocery store or simply sitting in your home by the window or lamp is all the light you need to activate this formulation and keep it working throughout the day. This is unlike any other product I've seen on the market today. Going in the sun actually helps the moisturizer work! Love it.

In an Independent Clinical Trial - after only 4 weeks of use:• 96% of the participants reported their skin appeared smoother
• 72% of the participants reported their skin appeared more radiant
• 72% of the participants reported their skin appeared firmer
• 48% of the participants reported their skin appeared to have less lines
• 64% of the participants reported their skin appeared to have a more uniformed complexion

I have been using the Photodynamic Therapy for about 2 weeks now and I have absolutely seen a difference in the way my skin looks. Unlike many products I try, (which only give me a brighter skin tone or a firmer look) this cream reduces the look of lines around my eyes. YES, it's really true. My complexion looks healthier and my skin just looks younger all around. I have been applying this every morning before I go out, because it will protect me from the sun's harmful rays. (And in Arizona,it can get pretty hot) I only wish I would have taken before and after pictures because there is a huge difference.

Also voted best skin care product from Allure Magazine, I am going to agree on this one. Favorite skin care product reviewed at least in the past 6 months. Hands down. I can't wait to try more of DERMAdoctor's products. The Photodynamic Therapy is available online at DERMAdoctor and  It  sells for $85, but it is well worth the price tag.
