3 Things you should never Wear to a Wedding

Weddings provide the ideal opportunity to make a special effort with your clothes. It's a day where everybody can get dressed up and look smart. But it can be difficult to know exactly what is the right thing to wear when you are a guest. Whether you realise it or not there are many taboos when it comes to wedding guest attire. While you should remain true to yourself, you should also think about what is appropriate and what should be avoided at all costs. Take a look at these three things you should never wear to a wedding to ensure you get noticed for all the right reasons.

A White Dress

Unless you want to fall out with the bride the second you enter the room, a white dress is a huge no no. Even if white is your favourite colour of choice, it will be seen as an attempt to upstage the bride. Why not try out a new look with a statement colour piece instead? Or go for another neutral colour such as a light grey or a coffee tone. If you are really brave and want to wear white, make 100% sure that your dress is in no way similar to the brides. It is her day after all. Try to get a glimpse of the dress if you can before the big day to ensure you make the right decisions regarding your outfit. Make sure you accessorize with statement jewellery and colour-pop heels to make you look less bridal.

Super High Heels

If you’re a natural in super high heels, then feel free to wear them to the wedding. But if you aren’t it could be a disaster. You could fall over, get blisters and have to remain seated throughout the reception. You may feel pressured to wear heels to such a fancy affair but go for a sensible heel that you can comfortably walk in. Sandals and wedges can also look fantastic with a fancy frock or skirt. There are so many options out there to choose from. Go for a stand out colour or a colour that perfectly compliments your outfit. Practice walking around in your new shoes before the event to help you get used to them.

Jeans and a T-shirt

It doesn’t matter how laid back the married couple are, jeans and a t-shirt are not suitable for a wedding.

Even if it’s being held on a beach or in a backyard, you should make more of an effort with your attire. If you prefer a relaxed style, you can still find plenty of wedding appropriate options. Why not try a jumpsuit or a button up shirt instead of a dress. It’s important that you feel at ease but jeans and a t-shirt you’ve worn all week won’t go down well with anybody.

Avoiding these three things will put your mind at ease and make your shopping process much easier. Nobody wants to upset the bride on her big day. So reduce the risk of this happening by always choosing something that is an appropriate length and colour. That way you’ll enjoy the celebrations and keep receiving wedding invitations in the future.

My Top Tips for a Brighter More Beautiful Smile

lWe all want a bright, beautiful smile - it’s no secret. If you’re unhappy with your smile, the chances are that not only do you lack self-esteem but also hate smiling, especially in pictures. A sparkling smile will not only boost your confidence, but it also makes your face look younger and healthier.

Of course, wanting an amazing smile and having one, are two very different things. It’s not like you can just call your fairy godmother and voila, your smile is perfect. If you want a beautiful smile that you’re proud of, you need to take steps to achieve it. To help you do that, I thought that I would share some tips with you, here:

Put a good oral hygiene routine in place

The most important thing that you can do for teeth that are bright and healthy is take care of them well at home. This means having a good oral hygiene routine in place that consists of brushing, flossing and mouth washing on a daily basis.

Brushing your teeth polishes the enamel and removes bacteria that can lead to decay. Flossing helps to remove food from below the gum line and from in between the teeth, helping to prevent decay. Finally, mouth washing helps to remove any missed plaque or bacteria from your mouth and also freshens your breath.

Go for regular dental checkups

The key to keeping your smile looking beautiful is catching decay as early as possible, as the longer you leave it, the worse it gets. Your dentist will be able to check your teeth for decay and will be abe to tell you the next steps if you have signs of decay.

Many people suffer from dental fear and so, don’t like to visit the dentist. It might be scary but unless you want unhealthy teeth, seeing a dentist every six months is a must.

Whiten your teeth

If your teeth are stained, this can have a big impact on your smile and confidence. While you can whiten your teeth at home with a DIY whitening kit, for best results, it’s a good idea to see a cosmetic dentist. The good news is that unlike some dental treatments, teeth whitening should be painless. So even if you’re scared of the dentist, cosmetic dentistry shouldn’t faze you.

The most important thing is to select a reputable cosmetic dentist, who has plenty of experience. Look for someone who runs a practice close to where you live and comes highly recommended. You only get one set of teeth, so when it comes to dental work, it’s important to know that you’re in the hands of someone who knows what they’re doing.

Be careful about what you eat and drink

When we think about our diets, it’s often in relation to our weight. However, that shouldn’t be the case. We should also think about how what we eat and drink affects our teeth, as many foods and drinks can be harmful.
For example, red wine and coffee can cause staining. Fizzy drinks and sugary sweets can make us more prone to cavities. It’s important to be choosy about what you eat and drink, to ensure that your teeth stay as healthy as possible.

A bright, white smile can not only boost your facial beauty but can also boost your confidence. Take note of the tips above, and you can give your smile a makeover.
