I might be off base here, but this photo seems rather racist and perpetuating unfair stereotypes about Asian women. Why did Doe Deer think it was okay to do "yellow face"?

Doesn't Doe Deer have anyone around to help her around issues like this? Isn't there anyone for her to consult about cultural sensitivity?

America's history with China is rather troubled, with many racist laws and restrictions on asian actresses playing certain roles so that "yellow face" was a way of excluding minority actors from roles that would better suit them than a white actress. So in addition to the China Doll theme itself being racist, it is doubly racist to see Doe Deer a white woman dressing as an Asian woman instead of hiring an Asian model. Asians seem to be quite under-rpresented in modeling.
